Georgia Unprepared for Voter Turnout

Friday, October 31, 2008

Naturally, the GOP Secretary of State has refused to extend voting hours in the hopes of waiting out voters. Disgraceful.

Just look at this video. No one should have to wait this long to vote. The GOP’s suppression efforts are undemocratic and un-American.

Is it any wonder they are heading for a historic defeat?

I suggest the Georgia Bulldogs refuse to play this Saturday in protest.

Exclusive: Why Does Obama Hate God?

Friday, October 31, 2008

My sources in the McCain campaign have forwarded me the transcript of a commercial they plan to air on Monday night before the election in a last-minute ad blitz they hope will turn the tide. It begins:

Ominous, vaguely Islamic-sounding music. Photo of smiling Barack Obama giving the middle finger to an elderly white lady.

Voice of Concern: Have you heard about the secret plans for us hatched between Barack Obama and his shady, Chicago, Islamo-Socialist Muslim 9/11 Terrorist friends?

Pic of a brave-looking Rudy Giuliani against a backdrop of 9/11. Written quote: “Islamo-Socialism? That’s worse than Islamo-Fascism.”

Voice of Concern: Have you heard the stories about Barack Obama having sex with Israeli children and then eating them?

Photo of shirtless Obama with blood dripping from his mouth over the prone body of a little Hasid boy. Behind him, obscured, but clearly naked, Michelle Obama looking angry and demanding.

Voice of Concern: Have you heard that Barack Obama bears the number of the beast?

Photo of a shirtless Obama performing fiery blood/sex rituals before a writhing crowd of naked half-man, half-animal creatures. Quote super imposed: “Here is wisdom. Let he who has understanding calculate the number of the Beast; for his number is that of a man; and his number is 666”. Rev:13:18.

Voice of Confidence: In this time of crisis, we need a leader who loves the real America, not the godless, Islamic terrorist, media elite, anti-Christian, anti-gun and oil, Satan worshiping, homosexual, child molesters who would destroy our constitution and free market system and the whole world as we know and love it.

Oh, and did you notice? (whisper) He’s black. (black echoes, growing louder)

So the question you have to ask yourself is, why does Barack Obama hate God?

Voice of McCain: I’m John McCain and I approved this message because on Tuesday, November 4, you must choose between good and evil. And I am good.

Lacks subtlety, huh?

CBS/NY Times: Obama +11

Thursday, October 30, 2008

From the New York Times:

A growing number of voters have concluded that Senator John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president, weighing down the Republican ticket in the last days of the campaign, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

All told, 59 percent of voters surveyed said that Ms. Palin was not prepared for the job, up 9 percentage points since the beginning of the month. Nearly a third of voters polled said that the vice-presidential selection would be a major factor influencing their vote for president, and those voters broadly favored Senator Barack Obama.

Palin 2012!

Recession Arrives in Name

Thursday, October 30, 2008

From CNBC:

The U.S. economy shrank at a 0.3 percent annual rate in the third quarter, its sharpest contraction in seven years as consumers cut spending and businesses reduced investment in the face of rising fears that recession was setting in.

Not a surprise. There’s more to come.

Cuomo and Waxman Go After Wall Street Bonuses

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I am thrilled to hear this. These guys should find a way to shutdown this outrage. With an estimated $20 billion dollar payout scheduled for Wall Street this season, it is clear that these people have not learned their lesson.

What I want to know is where are Bush and Paulson on this issue? Where are the shareholders?

Merrill Lynch (which nearly went bankrupt and has had 5 straight quarterly losses) has got a 6.7 billion dollar bonus pool. This is rewarding failure. These companies are taking government money and “redistributing” it to the wealthy.

Oh, but what about the rank-and-file? I say, what about them? They earned their outsized bonuses when times were good, now they must suffer as times are bad. Don’t like it? Go find a job elsewhere. They all earn salaries, they all have health care. If you count on a bonus regardless of whether you succeed or fail, than you have no one to blame but yourself.

Furthermore, where is the outrage that these banks are all laying people off and still paying bonuses? Why not use that money to keep more people in their jobs?

The whole thing is sickening.

Why Francis Fukuyama is Voting Obama

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

From the American Conservative:

I’m voting for Barack Obama this November for a very simple reason. It is hard to imagine a more disastrous presidency than that of George W. Bush. It was bad enough that he launched an unnecessary war and undermined the standing of the United States throughout the world in his first term. But in the waning days of his administration, he is presiding over a collapse of the American financial system and broader economy that will have consequences for years to come. As a general rule, democracies don’t work well if voters do not hold political parties accountable for failure. While John McCain is trying desperately to pretend that he never had anything to do with the Republican Party, I think it would a travesty to reward the Republicans for failure on such a grand scale.

Works for me.

McCain +2 in Arizona!

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

From ASU: McCain is ahead just 46 to 44 percent in his home state.

According to poll director Dr. Bruce Merrill, “The race in Arizona is very close. Supporters of both candidates are highly committed to their candidates, with 94 percent of Obama’s supporters and 93 percent of McCain’s supporters indicating that they are firmly committed and won’t change their mind before Election Day.
